Hello there.
This time, I\u2019d like to look back on the \u201cLet\u2019s Become Water Scientists\u201d Workshop<\/strong> from the organizer\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf31 What it means to \u201cobserve\u201d nature<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

The reason we planned this workshop was simple: we wanted to create opportunities for people to touch and engage with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In daily life, we notice changes in nature less and less.
But the smell and color of water, its chill and its flow, all carry countless messages.
We hoped the children would discover those messages with their own eyes<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This nature experience began with that wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udc66\ud83d\udc67 The day the children became the \u201cteachers\u201d<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Once we opened the lid, it was surprise after surprise.
We started with the discovery, \u201cThis water smells like sausages!\u201d
Then came an unexpected result: \u201cIs the downstream water colder<\/em> than the upstream?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wasn\u2019t the adults who noticed these things\u2014it was the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their senses were tuned like antennas, catching nature\u2019s voice\u2014
so much so that even the instructors murmured, \u201cWe should check this again another day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udc68\u200d\ud83d\udc69\u200d\ud83d\udc67\u200d\ud83d\udc66 Time for families to face \u2018water\u2019 together<\/h2><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Another big highlight was that families could truly<\/em> dive in together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using water-quality test kits, they checked components drop by drop\u2014from tap water to spring water to river water.
Watching the colors change, they discussed: \u201cIs this iron?\u201d \u201cMaybe there\u2019s chlorine?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scene felt just like an old-school science lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some families even said, \u201cLet\u2019s take a kit home and test our tap water too!\u201d
We saw curiosity spreading through households again and again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf71 Gratitude for an unforgettable lunch\u2014and for mowing the grounds<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

And we\u2019ll never forget the picnic bento we all shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Culinary researcher Shioyama<\/strong> and the executive chefs at Rusutsu Resort<\/strong> prepared a special lunch just for the day\u2014
a true feast. Sitting on the grass and savoring it under the open sky made a precious moment for both kids and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also want to record our thanks to the Rusutsu leadership team,
who mowed an entire field of grass that had grown taller than we are, to prepare the site for the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That effort made today\u2019s smiles possible.

\ud83c\udf0d Observing nature is looking toward the future<\/h2><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

This workshop wasn\u2019t so much a place to teach<\/em> as it was a place to notice things together<\/em> with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mystery of flowing water, the sound of the river, the coldness, the scents\u2014
those five-senses discoveries seemed to blossom into a sense of awe:
\u201cWater is amazing.\u201d \u201cNature is fascinating.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Above all, this experience felt like an important first step
toward caring for Rusutsu\u2019s great nature with our own hands in the days ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
