President & CEO
Hisatake Kamori

After graduating from Emerson College (USA) in 2002, he joined Kamori Kanko Co., Ltd. in 2003. He subsequently served as Executive Assistant to the President, General Manager of Sales Planning, and General Manager of Overseas Business before being appointed President & CEO in 2021. Centered on Rusutsu Resort, he has driven a diversified expansion into resort facilities, restaurants, and breweries both in Japan and abroad. By actively adopting cutting-edge technologies and new services, he continues to elevate the resort’s international standing.

Koichi Yamashita

Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, he joined Kamori Kanko in 1992 and spent many years at Rusutsu Resort after working as a bellboy, front-desk clerk, reservations agent, and in sales. He assumed his current position in 2023. Valuing collaboration with the local community, he manages facilities with a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship. Driven by the responsibility to pass on Rusutsu’s powder snow to future generations, he is advancing the creation of a sustainable resort.

Academic Advisor

Koichiro Kuraji
Professor, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo
(Director of Planning, University Forests / Forest Watershed Management Laboratory)

Expertise: Forest hydrology and the interrelationships among forests, water, and people.

Born in Tokyo in 1965, he graduated from the Department of Forestry, Faculty of Agriculture, The University of Tokyo. After completing his master’s program at the same graduate school, he spent two years with the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers at the Forest Research Centre in Sabah, Borneo. He then served as a research associate at The University of Tokyo, a lecturer at Tokyo Institute of Technology, and later a lecturer and associate professor at The University of Tokyo. In 2017, he was appointed Professor at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo, a position he holds to this day. He holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture.

Hiroshi Takashima
Professor, Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Daiichi Institute of Technology
President, NPO Japan Geological Contamination Assessment Organization

Specialization: Geological environmental science, groundwater resource conservation, and water-cycle management

Born in 1964, he graduated from the Department of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Science, Kyushu University, and went on to complete both the master’s and doctoral programs at the same university. For many years he has worked with local governments to safeguard the quantity and quality of groundwater. He also helped establish the NPO Japan Geological Contamination Assessment Organization, of which he is now president, and continues to research the links between regional water cycles and geology. He holds a Ph.D. in Science.
