Announcement: “Water Circulation Symposium in Rusutsu 2025”

At Rusutsu Resort, we will host the 2nd Water Circulation Symposium in Rusutsu 2025.
This symposium brings together businesses, local governments, researchers, and community members to discuss and share approaches to a sustainable society centered on green infrastructure, with the aim of passing the region’s natural assets—water and forests—on to the next generation.
In the tourism industry, efforts to quantitatively capture changes in the natural environment have been limited.
However, in Rusutsu we are advancing initiatives to continuously monitor nature’s dynamics—such as rainfall, groundwater, and the water-retention capacity of forests—while accumulating and publishing these observations as scientific data.
These practices are carried out in collaboration with universities and experts, presenting a new role model of a resort that fulfills its responsibility to protect its own natural resources.
Going forward, we will continue to leverage these insights as we work with the local community to build a truly sustainable resort.
