Rusutsu Resort’s initiatives toward the SDGs

At Rusutsu Resort, we are advancing a wide range of initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the theme “creating a future where nature and people coexist.”

The main initiatives are as follows:

  • Introduction of renewable energy:By harnessing solar power and small-scale hydropower, we aim for local energy production and consumption while reducing CO₂ emissions.
  • Promotion of recycling:We are enhancing in-house waste separation and collection, reducing overall waste generation, and expanding reuse initiatives to minimize disposal.
  • Utilization of local resources:By actively sourcing local ingredients and collaborating with local businesses, we support the revitalization of the regional economy.
  • Talent development and a supportive work environment:We promote diversity, safeguard employee safety and health, and strive to create a workplace where everyone can work comfortably.
  • Conservation of the natural environment:Through forest-conservation initiatives and measures that respect local ecosystems, we operate the resort in harmony with nature.
